Catrice The Essential Nude Eyeshadow Palette

I've had this palette for quite some time now. I've been meaning to review it, but I just never got around to it. But here it is! I've been using it religiously and finally gathered my thoughts. This is The Essential Nude Eyeshadow Palette by Catrice | RM26.

I got it because it looked pretty promising. It's budget-friendly, and when I swatched it, I was like, "I might need this." Usually, drugstore eyeshadow palettes can be disappointing, but not this one. Keep reading for my thoughts!

Packaging

For such an affordable brand, the packaging looks pretty high-end. It's made of plastic but feels really sturdy. There's no mirror, which doesn't bother me, and it doesn't come with a sponge applicator, but I use my own brush anyway. Plus, there are tips with images on the back on how to use it, which is super convenient for beginners.

Texture/ pigmentation

You get nine eyeshadows in total—three shimmery shades and six matte ones. They're buttery and soft to the touch, especially the shimmer ones, which are my faves. The mattes are great for transitions and all-over-the-lid shades. The colors are earthy-toned and perfect for beginners. You can't go wrong with these shades.

Pigmentation-wise, I have no issues. They're surprisingly long-wearing too! But, they are quite powdery and have a lot of fallout, especially the darker shades. Blending was tricky at first, with lots of building up and blending, but you get the hang of it. 

Despite that, this palette is gorgeous.

Verdict

Overall, I think The Essential Nude Eyeshadow Palette by Catrice is great. You get what you pay for. For the price, it's not half bad. I still reach for it whenever I want a natural hint of color on my lids. If you love natural, neutral shades, then this palette is a nice one to own.
