Before I dive in, I have to tell you—I don't really use liquid lipstick anymore because my lips get super dry, no matter how much lip balm I use. But when I tried this Maybelline liquid lipstick, I looked in the mirror and thought, "Wow, my lipstick is still on, and my lips aren't chapped!" And this was after eating lots of ketupat, rendang, kuih raya, and chugging Coke. Impressive, right?
But is it really as amazing as it sounds? Keep reading to find out!
Maybelline says:
Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink is a non-drying matte liquid lipstick that lasts up to 16 hours and is waterproof, smudge-proof and transfer-proof. It also promises an intense pigmentation yet affordable. Apart from that, it has a unique applicator that ensure precise application.
let's talk about the packaging!
I'm a sucker for cute packaging, and this one does not disappoint. The tube is rectangular with chrome lettering and a textured grip. Love it! The wand has an "arrow" shape with a hole in the middle, which picks up more product but doesn't offer the best precision, in my opinion.
my experience
I chose one of the lightest shades called Loyalist because it's easy for me to mix with other lip colors. It has a strong, yummy vanilla cake frosting scent, which I actually like. The finish is matte, just like the name suggests. It applies smoothly but feels a bit sticky at first and takes a while to dry completely. Removing it is a bit of a hassle—you'll need a good makeup remover or cleansing oil. On the bright side, it doesn't feel too drying on the lips compared to other liquid lipsticks I've tried.
The color is super pigmented, and you get the true shade with just one swipe. It's very waterproof, which is why it's tough to remove.
pros:
Intense pigmentation
Great staying power
Not too drying
Waterproof
Great value for money
Easily accessible
Pleasant scent
Sturdy packaging
cons:
Feels tacky and sticky at first
I'm not a fan of the applicator; it gets a bit flimsy over time (but that's just me)
overall
The Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick is definitely worth trying. It's one of the best liquid lipsticks I've used, especially if you're looking for something long-lasting without the need for frequent touch-ups. You can grab it at most drugstores for around RM30+. Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed my review xx
I tried this lipstick once, not sure which shade it is cause it's my sister's but I don't really like it much. I think the formula is too thick for my liking. But, I agree that the lipstick has great pigmentation.
ReplyDeleteYup, I don't like that it feels thick and sticky. Sometimes I have to blot it a little with a tissue or pat pat pat with my finger lol. The pigmentation is super awesome!
Deletetak suka jenis matte ni sebab tebal lepastu mengering sampai bibir merekah walaupun apply lipbalm sebelum tu. Bila dia kering pun tak cantik
ReplyDeleteHaah, texture dia tebal sikit. I suggest you to scrub your lips before wearing any lip products. That's what I always do so that lip products appear smooth on my lips :)
DeleteLooks interesting! But I honestly never see this before. It looks too matte, unlike silkygirl matte junkie, was it worth to try.... or not?
ReplyDeleteI'd say it's a little more creamy than Silkygirl's Matte Junkie. And it's thicker and sticky too. If you don't mind the stickiness then I'd say go for it. It's really pigmented and super long lasting!
