I've been told by the SA that there's a chance the Wardah sunscreen is going to be out of stock for several months. Several months. My skin's going to act up and mess with me. It sucks. So I gave in and bought another one as an alternative but I can't find any sunscreen that's cheaper than my Wardah sunscreen. That's even worse. But we gotta do what we gotta do, sis.
Sunplay Skin Aqua UV Whitening Moisture Gel sunscreen retails at about RM30 for 80ml of product, maybe 2-3 ringgit cheaper or pricier depending on where you get them. I think the price point is fair with what I'm getting. It's affordable to a certain extent.
First things first, packaging. It comes in a pink squeezable plastic bottle with a screwed nozzle. The design is pretty sleek and chic. I like it and I like the colour but I personally don't like 1) the nozzle because it can be messy; 2) the cap because for some reason I tend to misplace screwed caps like this but let's hope not.
It has a solid white colour, just like any other sunscreen. The consistency is gel-like and quite runny. It's safe to say that it's lightweight too. I like that it's not too greasy, I would say it has a satin matte finish and absorbs quite fast on my skin. Oh, and it leaves minimal to almost no white cast as well. I think that's where I'm sold.
This sunscreen doesn't break me out and for that fact, I thank the Lord. I'm so happy because my skin can be tricky and sensitive. It reacts almost immediately to whatever I put on my skin. Another thing is worth mentioning here is that this sunscreen is so hydrating and moisturizing and it's also alcohol-free. Another plus point in my eyes! Overall, it's such a comfortable sunscreen to wear every day. It looks great under makeup and without makeup. My skin feels super protected hence their Solarex-3 technology.
I think you can already tell I'm in love with this sunscreen. I have been using it every day for a few weeks now. I know that's not a long time but so far so good. I'm loving it. Maybe a little bit more than the Wardah sunscreen. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this quick little review of my current (possibly) favourite sunscreen. Check it out if you need a new alcohol-free sunscreen.

What I like about it:
- doesn't leave a noticeable white cast on my medium skin
- alcohol-free
- doesn't break me out
- hydrating gel-like formula
- lightweight & not greasy
- contains Arbutin
- value for money
Do you wear sunscreen? What's your current favorite?
I'm currently wearing the Bio-Essence sunscreen. It has a slight white cast to it but nothing too crazy, I think it goes well with my every day makeup routine. To be honest, I used to not have sunscreen as part of my skincare routine and all because the ones I tried in the past caused my skin to breakout and it was soooo stressful. I only tried this one in particular because my skin never made trouble since I had it, not even once. hehe
ReplyDeleteThat's great! I think you should stick with it. I might check it out just for experiment purpose hehe
Deletepernah juga guna brand ni beberapa warna. tapi sekaramg ni guna brand aqua uv hehe
ReplyDeleteApparently it's so good. It has more plus points in my eyes xx
DeleteI have the same problem too, it's hard to find one sunscreen that is suitable for my skin. I tried Wardah and love it a lot, but it tend to make my skin sweaty/perspirate then I decide to use this Sunplay and it works so well! Plus, a bottle can last longer than Wardah's 😅
ReplyDeleteGreat it works well on you! Oh my god, now that you mentioned that it could last longer than the Wardah one, I think it's DEFINITELY my fav now haha
