Ever since COSRX, Axis-Y is another K-Beauty brand that seems to hit the mark for my skin. Axis-Y seems to be focused on ethical beauty which is why I decided to stan. I will support vegan and cruelty-free products whenever I can. The latest thing I have been trying is their Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum.
Axis-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum
This serum combines Niacinamide with Squalane to help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation while keeping the skin glow and healthy-looking. Axis-Y skincare also follows the 6+1+1 approach — 6 base ingredients, 1 core ingredient, and 1 effective technology. With the 6+1+1 line, they hope to help people who deal with oiliness and acne.
Ingredients
After reading the ingredients list, this product seemed too good to be true! You must be curious about what goes into the product. This serum is packed with natural ingredients and powerful agents. I have mentioned the 6+1+1 approach above so this is where we can break them down one by one.
1 core ingredient:
Niacinamide — is the main brightening agent that moisturises, battles hyperpigmentation and helps with the appearance of pores.
6 base ingredients:
Squalane — is a natural antioxidant to protect the skin from aging and also a powerful moisturizer that resembles our skin's natural oil.
Allantoin — helps to regenerate new skin cells, soothing and protecting sensitive skin.
Calendula — has healing properties that can improve blemishes and scars.
Rice bran — helps smoothen, brighten the skin and keep it hydrated.
Sea buckthorn — even out dark spots, brightens the skin and reduces inflammation caused by UV exposure.
Papaya — improves skin tone and helps brighten under-eye circles.
1 effective technology:
Niacinamide + Rice bran — combined in a specific ratio to help deliver the best results for problematic skin.

Texture, finish & scent
The serum has a faint herbal scent. Well, it doesn't say fragrance in the ingredients but I am assuming it could be from the Rosemary Leaf Oil. The scent does fade quickly after application so it doesn't bother me that much.
I think the texture and finish are the best part of this product. It's a gel-type serum. It's so lightweight and absorbs into the skin immediately. Because the texture is so thin, it spreads easily and it doesn't feel sticky. One pump is enough for my skin and with such little product, it makes my skin soft and supple while leaving long-lasting hydration.
It gives my skin the healthiest glow and I can't stress it enough. It says glow on the packaging for a reason. I use it AM and PM because who doesn't want to glow at all times?
Packaging
Axis-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum comes in a 50ml plastic tube that is nice and minimalistic and equipped with a pump which is very, very much appreciated. Brilliant packaging for a serum that's opaque, super hygienic and I can really get every single bit of product. And I am glad to report that I haven't lost the cap yet!
Overall thoughts
This is a really well-thought-out product. I am really impressed with the formulation and how it works on my skin. I do feel like my overall complexion is brighter and that my hyperpigmentation are all gone after using one full tube of this serum, well, including daily diligent SPF applications too. Can't forget that!
This is definitely a great serum to try if you are looking for the superstar Niacinamide-based product but don't want to risk some of the higher % formulations. More isn't always better. This serum has 5% Niacinamide, which is a very effective concentration.
I don't think I have anything bad to say about this product. That's actually pretty rare. I like the healthy glow it gives me and keeping my skin hydrated for a long time. Since it's a lightweight gel serum, it layers well with other skincare products I have and it quickly became essential in my skincare routine. You should check this serum out if you are trying to hit different skin concerns all in one product!
