Journaling has been one of my favorite hobbies for over two years now. I just love spending hours with my journal—doodling, making spreads, and pouring my heart into it. It's super therapeutic and brings me so much peace. It's my little escape where I can get personal and talk about my struggles and anxieties. It feels like more than just a hobby to me now.
Today, I'm thrilled to share my review of the new and limited edition Tsuki ‘Ichigo’ Boba bullet journal from Notebook Therapy!
Just a little disclaimer, I bought this with my own money and I'm not sponsored or affiliated with them. We're diving into the pros and cons of this journal, from unboxing to using it. Spoiler alert: I'm really loving it. Let's get into it!
About the notebook
Inspired by strawberry bubble tea, this is the Tsuki Ichigo Limited Edition Boba journal from their Tea Party collection. I got it in A5 size, my favorite, but it also comes in B5 and a smaller original size. Mine has 176 pages of 160gsm bright white paper, an elastic band closure, two pink bookmark ribbons, and a cute paperclip in the back pocket.
The cover
I'm a total sucker for pink, so the Ichigo Boba journal was a must-have. It has a dreamy pastel pink vegan leather cover with a gold bubble tea design on the front. Each notebook in this collection has its own adorable details, and this one has gold-gilded edges with tiny strawberries and sparkles. How cute is that?
The cover feels super high-quality and luxurious, and I think this journal would absolutely hold up to regular journal wear and tear.
Paper quality
Now, let's talk about the best part—the paper! It's 160gsm thick, so no ghosting or bleed-through. Perfect for water-based markers or watercolor! I didn't do any pen tests because with paper this good, nothing bleeds. Even my brush pens don't bleed on 140gsm paper, so this is great.
The paper is bright white and smooth. It's the whitest I've seen so far, and the dots aren't too noticeable, which I love. It's so frustrating when the dots are too obvious and mess up your spreads.
Cost & shipping
The A5 size is $31.98 (RM133.61), which I think is fair. They also offer free worldwide shipping with no minimum purchase, which is awesome. I used a 10% discount code from @catsplanner—yes, please! The buying process was smooth. I ordered it from their website on September 3rd, and it arrived 19 days later. I'm impressed it took less than 30 days to get here, especially since I live far away.
Final thoughts
Overall, this is one of my favorite purchases of 2021. I'm really happy with the journal's quality and design. I'd definitely buy another one in the future. I just wish the bookmark ribbons were different shades of pink instead of the same. But that's just a small detail.
I love bullet journaling in the traditional way. The blank pages let me be super creative, from minimalist spreads to heavy doodling. I cherish these quiet moments, which can be rare for some people.
I haven't heard of this before, but it's so cute! I love the shade of pink too, and the design is adorable. I definitely need to look into this brand xx
