Hello, gorgeousness! I'm back to share some of my current favourites with you. Last week was my first week back to work after taking a bit of time off over the Eid holiday celebration and right now I'm feeling slightly refreshed and recharged for the new month. The favourites this time will be a lot of beauty emphasis, I hope guys are enjoying it nonetheless! Let's jump in.
L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer
You might be wondering, what happened to my trustee Tarte Shape Tape? No worries, I'm still keeping that one front and center on my vanity but I have always wanted to give this L.A. Girl Pro Concealer a try. Remember back in 2016-ish, everyone and their mother was using this concealer? Good times.
Anyway, the shade I'm using is the Peach Corrector. It's undoubtedly really good for my dark circles. It's nicely pigmented and a little goes a long way. I love that when I use the Peach Corrector, my skin is much more even while still looking so natural. The key is to blend like crazy so it actually colour corrects and counteracts discolouration. It's the only thing I'm using if I'm out running a few errands + a thin layer of powder, blush and I'm out the door!
Flortte Nice To Meet Chu Jelly Lipstick
I knew about this product from TikTok and it's definitely one of my favourite discoveries for 2023. The Flortte Jelly Lipstick went pretty viral in some parts of the world and I just had to give it a try. Not gonna lie, it definitely screams Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump at a glance. #8 and #12 are the shades that I got and they are wonderful for everyday wear!
In terms of formula, they are both really juicy and glossy on the lips but the Tarte one is more hydrating and has a plumping action, while the Flortte one is slightly cooling and that is it. However, I think it's a great affordable dupe for the Tarte Juicy Lip Plump! It has a wide range of shade selections and did I mention it's heart-shaped?! I think it's so cute and I really like using it.
Coach Wild Rose Eau de Parfum
I got a sample of this a few months back and thought I would try it out full size. Honestly, it's nothing too revolutionary but as a girl who typically stays away from rose, I really, truly like this perfume! It definitely changed the way I feel about rose scent. It's sweet, luxurious, totally a cutie and a good rose perfume without giving 'grandma' vibes. The dry down almost has a fruity or berry-like element on my skin, which I don't mind at all! Overall, it's a gorgeous everyday fragrance.
Givenchy L'Interdit Eau de Parfum
Still keeping it sweet and luxurious. My love for Givenchy L'Interdit dates back to circa 2019 when I first got it as a sample inside my Sephora package. I was head over heels! It smells so, so good. It smells of luxury, elegance and classy — like the queen Audrey Hepburn herself. It's uniquely soft and feminine and it has become one of my signature scents! I can't live without it; it will wow you and will make you smell unforgettable, which is exactly what I want in a bottle of perfume.
Wardah Colorfit Perfect Glow Cushion Foundation
I think I have found the perfect glowy foundation for my oily skin gals out there! Ever since I heard raving reviews about this cushion foundation over on Twitter, I have been wanting to test it out myself. All I can say is that it provides medium to full coverage, remains light and fresh on the skin and requires fewer touch-ups. It's only been a week and this cushion foundation has already become my go-to.
I gotta be honest, the shade range is a disgrace. I legit hope they will bring a wider selection of shade ranges in the future so more people can enjoy their smashing cushion foundation! I absolutely love it. It doesn't make me look like a greasy mess despite it being a radiant and glowy formula.
Innisfree Volcanic Calming Pore Clay Mask
Other than it being a wonderful elevated clay mask, this Innisfree mask was able to reduce the appearance of large pores on my nose, without doing anything that most other clay masks did: harden or dry stiffly (thank goodness). I have oily skin and I use this mask on my T-zone area once a week, and I love how my skin feels afterwards! It feels so smooth, less oily, and more balanced and most importantly, it makes every makeup application a breeze!
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil
Does anybody even talk about these NYX Jumbo Pencils anymore? They were the sh*t back then and now I feel like they just got thrown to the back in the beauty world. Well, I'm gonna bring it back in this blog post. I'm gonna give it the spotlight it deserves.
They were raved about for a reason! The quality hasn't changed; glides on effortlessly, doesn't bleed or smudge and blends like a dream. My favourite shade is Frosting, a really nice champagne or sheeny peach shade. It is great for highlighting the inner corner and creating "aegyo-sal".
A new blog theme!
Surprise, surprise~ new face. I don't know what struck me at 1 am, last Thursday when I took a spontaneous decision to buy a new theme for my blog. I think it was about time and I have been meaning to have a professional and clean-looking theme that makes it look like I'm on WordPress but I'm actually not.
I have been eyeing this theme called Madrid by Jedi Themes for over a month but I was really contemplating hitting checkout because I still love my previous theme hehe. So many quirks and characters in that theme that I personally really, really like but YEAH I got a new theme :') and it still needs a few tweaks here and there but I think it looks so pretty now and I'm so happy!
