It's me, your older and (hopefully) wiser self from 2023.
It's hard to believe that it's been a decade since I was in your shoes, full of dreams, excitement and a tad bit of uncertainty. As I sit down to write this letter, I can't help but reflect on the incredible journey from that last year of school in November 2013 to where I am today in 2023.
Back then, you were so young and the future seemed like this vast, mysterious land waiting to be explored. You didn't have all the answers and that was perfectly okay.
Remember how you were unsure about what lay ahead? Well, I can assure you that your future is incredibly bright, much brighter than you could ever imagine.
In your final year of school, you were giving it your all, pushing yourself to excel the big exam, making the most of every moment. You were determined to leave a mark, and let me tell you, you did just that. Your hard work, dedication, and resilience paid off in ways you can't fathom right now.
Fast forward to 2023, and I'm here to tell you that life has been an incredible journey. You see, all those uncertainties and doubts you had in 2013, they only made you stronger.
You've learned so much along the way and that knowledge has paved the path to where you are today.
Throughout your time in university, you excelled in your exams and continued to learn and grow, and yes, you've got a 4.0 GPA, and let me tell you, that's a huge deal! You never stopped pushing yourself to be the best you could be.
It wasn't always easy, and there were challenges, but you faced them head-on. Those experiences, both the highs and the lows, shaped you into the person you are today.
I can proudly say that you are much, much wiser now. You have a career that you're passionate about, and every day feels like an opportunity to make a difference. You've made amazing friends, you're taking good care of your mental health, and most of all, you're living life to the fullest with a big ol' smile!
The future that once felt uncertain is now a canvas filled with vibrant colors and exciting adventures.
One thing I've realized is that it's not just about the destination; it's about the journey. You'll make mistakes, stumble, and doubt yourself along the way, but these experiences are what will make you grow and evolve.
I won't spoil the surprises and details of your journey, but I wanted to reassure you that your dreams and hard work will lead to a beautiful life.
17-year-old me, you've done me proud. Thanks for all the great memories ❤︎
With love and gratitude,
Your 2023 self
